Geraldine Barney and Athene Wilson unleash a music filled performance indicative of their rich personal narratives that is not to be missed.
Geraldine Barney, a singer/songwriter and visual artist from the eastern part of the Navajo Nation, Northwest New Mexico. Straddling two cultures is a prominent theme in both her art and music. Musically, Geraldine was selected by ethnomusicologists from the Smithsonian National Museum of American History to be one of the artists on two CDs: “Music of New Mexico: Native American Traditions” and “Heartbeat: Voices of First Nations Women”, both on the Smithsonian Folkways label.

She sang in several church choirs until her transition to Boston where she started her professional singing career. Ms. Wilson received her first break with local artist Larry Watson when she sang, ‘Since I fell for you.’ For years, Boston has enjoyed the melodic sounds of Ms. Wilson in jazz clubs, churches, and city-wide events.
