New Rep's Holiday Shows Exceed Revenue Goals!
January 13, 2009

New Repertory Theatre is pleased to announce that both of its holiday shows, Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol and The Santaland Diaries, were extremely successful this year!

Even after having to cancel performances due to the severe snow storms that hit New England on December 19th and 21st, both shows exceeded their revenue goals by over 11%. Almost every performance of The Santaland Diaries was sold out, and New Rep added three performances to meet the public's high demand.

"I am so thrilled that Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol and The Santaland Diaries did exceptionally well" says Harriet Sheets, Managing Director of New Repertory Theatre.  "It was a wonderful way to end the year.  And we are happy with the way the New Year is beginning with strong ticket sales for Cabaret."

Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol is a collaboration between New Repertory Theatre, the Arsenal Center for the Arts, and Watertown Children's Theatre.  This year was the fourth for this popular adaptation of Dickens' classic holiday story.  Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol performed on the Mainstage in the Charles Mosesian Theater from December 14th through December 28, 2008.

This year was the third for Downstage @ New Rep's production of the wickedly funny The Santaland Diaries.  The Santaland Diaries was performed in the Black Box Theater from December 17, 2008 through January 4, 2009.
